I'm a graduate of the 2014 Clarion Writers' Workshop, a member of the Altered Fluid writing group, a graduate of Mary Robinette Kowal's short story writing intensive workshop, and have been a frequent client of Kat Howard's short story critique and mentoring service. I have four professional story sales, with work appearing or having appeared in Nightmare Magazine, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Fireside Fiction, and the Daniel Jose Older guest-edited issue of Fireside Fiction. I also write for Book Riot, Tor.com, and Strange Horizons.
Slipstream, Scifi, Fantasy, Horror, Literary, some weird amalgamation monster of all the above.
So . . . here's the goal for the summer. I spent the last year deeply embedded in a novel I was working on, and right now, it needs to spend some time in the cryotube to catch up on sleep and gain some perspective after people's critiques. I've produced a lot of short fiction as well, but only first drafts; I haven't really had a lot of time to go back in and tinker. My Write-A-Thon goal is this then: Heavily revise at least 4 old stories this story, and write four new short stories, for a total of 8 short stories. I don't know if it's a reasonable goal, but it's what I'm thinking. I think it can be done, and I look forward to y'all cheering me on! And who knows . . . maybe I'll start a new novel, too.
I would love to raise at least $250 for the workshop that gave so much to me!
