Vida Cruz is a Filipina graduate of the 2014 Clarion Writers Workshop. Her fiction can be found in Lontar: The Journal of Southeast Asian Speculative Fiction, Expanded Horizons, Phantazein, and Philippine Speculative Fiction vol. 9. Both her dayjob and her slush reading gig for Uncanny Magazine help her hone her editing skills and her patience. She just wants to pet all the dogs and wear purple things.
She tends toward poetic prose that, when cobbled together, is usually about love, relationships, and Philippine mythological creatures--with decolonization, feminism, environmentalism, and other social issues sneaked in.
I want to write shitty first drafts of six short stories to increase the number in my trunk. I may spend some time plotting a potential novel, though.
