Writer Bio: I attended Clarion West in 1994, and I taught Clarion in 2004 and Clarion West in 2005. My first collection, Beluthahatchie and Other Stories, won the World Fantasy Award, as did my story “The Pottawatomie Giant.” My story “The Chief Designer” won the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award. I’ve been nominated for the Stoker once, Hugo twice, Shirley Jackson twice, and Nebula six times. My second collection, The Pottawatomie Giant and Other Stories, is new in 2012 from PS Publishing. I was a full-time journalist for twelve years and have taught undergraduates for eighteen years. I’m an assistant professor of English at Frostburg State University, in the western Maryland mountains, and an instructor in the Honors College of the University of Alabama.
Writing Style: "If Harper Lee and Gene Wolfe had a love child, Andy Duncan is it." -- Craig Jacobsen, SFRA Review; "A genre to himself." -- Gardner Dozois
writing goal:
20000 words written

days written:

write-a-thon goals:
I hope to finish three already-begun projects: a short story, a collaborative novella, and a novel draft. Donations of a penny a word would be great, but any amount will honor me. The world of science fiction and fantasy is healthier for having the Clarions in it.
fundraising goals:
A penny a word per sponsor would be $100 if I reach 10,000 words, $200 if I reach 20,000, $300 if I reach 30,000 ... Just sayin'.
