Madeleine Robins has been a nanny, an administrator, an actor, and a swordswoman; has trafficked book production, edited comics, and repaired hurt books. She's also the author of five Regency romances available through Book View Café, the New York Times Notable urban fantasy The Stone War, Daredevil: The Cutting Edge, and three Regency-noir mysteries, Point of Honour, Petty Treason, and The Sleeping Partner, starring the redoubtable Sarah Tolerance, agent of inquiry. Sold for Endless Rue, an historical retelling of Rapunzel set at the medieval medical school in Salerno, was published in 2013. She is a founding member of the Book View Café. She's also part of the writing team for Whitehall, a serialized historical story about Charles II, Catherine of Braganza, and the intrigue, politicking, and carousing of the British Court (https://www.serialbox.com/serials/570d35ebada6e22ac8d16bef) A native New Yorker, Madeleine now lives in San Francisco with a dog, a husband, and a hegemonic lemon tree. And as always, she's working on another book.
SF, fantasy, historical, alternate-historical. Basically, whatever comes to mind.
I made last year's goal--but didn't finish the project (other things, most particularly the serial historical Whitehall, nudged Miss Tolerance out of the way). This year I'd like to finish--or come close to finishing, that book. This seems like a really good kick in the pants.
$400 ($0.05 per word, $100 per chapter--doesn't that seem reasonable?)
Alas, the Clarion Write-a-Thon has ended, with $12,907.77 raised so far! However, we are still accepting donations. Thank you for your support!
